CHARGERS FALL TO #8 MOTLOW STATE

The #18 nationally ranked Chargers open the season with the #8 nationally ranked Bucks of Motlow State and came away with a 79-60 loss. The Bucks got out to a fast start in the first half and never looked back. The Chargers keep fighting and just before the half went on a 7-0 run to cut the Bucks lead to 6 points, 36-30. The Bucks lead 39-31 at the half. ?Our team played hard, but we did not rebound well enough or shoot the ball well enough to win, they are legitimately a top ten team?, said Charger Head coach Phil Gaffney.

Motlow won the battle of the boards with 57 rebounds, 28 of those being offensive rebounds to the Chargers 48, The Bucks had 4 players in double digits led by Dillon Smith with 19 points. The Chargers had only one player in double digits, TaJuan Johnson with 20 points.

The Chargers (0-1) on the season head to Morristown , Tennessee on Friday to take on Caldwell College in the Walters State Classic. Tip off is 4:00pm. Saturday they take on Walters State at 7:00pm.
