Lady Chargers Drop Close Match Versus Wallace State-Hanceville

Jacksonville, Alabama-

 

Thursday night’s matchup versus Wallace State-Hanceville took place at Jacksonville State University’s beautiful stadium. A previous home to Georgia Highlands Head Coach Savannah Sloan and Wallace State-Hanceville’s Assistant Coach, Cadi Oliver who are both Alumni of the University.

 

The game started out quietly as a pitcher’s duel until the top of the third inning when Wallace State scored two. The Lady Chargers quickly answered in the bottom of the frame with two runs of their own. No more runs were scored as the pitcher’s duel continued up until the top of the seventh when Wallace State scored two more runs, unanswered by the Chargers. Chargers drop the game with a final score of 4-2.

 

Offense for the Lady Chargers was led by Natalia Herrera who had two hits in her three at bats. Izzy Marcotte and Taryn Hitchcock had an RBI a piece scoring the two runs for the Lady Chargers.

 

Montana Ledbetter threw the entirety of the game facing 32 batters in seven frames. She allowed four hits, zero earned runs, and four walks while striking out six of the Lions.

 

Game two of the evening was cancelled due to umpire health issues.
