The Chargers went down to Wadley, AL for a midweek match up with the Bison of Southern Union. This turned into a showdown not just on the ballfield but also against the elements as the rain started to fall quite heavily in game two.

In game one Georgia Highlands College Chargers defeated Southern Union Lady Bison 12-9 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The Chargers led most of the game until the seventh inning when the Bison had a late game scoring frenzy that tied the ball game 6-6. The Chargers answered in the top of the eighth with six more runs which was enough to hold onto the win.  

Madalyn Morton earned the victory on the rubber for Georgia Highlands College Chargers. The righthander surrendered two runs on five hits over seven and a third innings, striking out eight. Gracee Ellis threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Georgia Highlands College Chargers hit two home runs on the day. Izzy Marcotte went yard in the fourth inning, followed immediately with another homerun by Taryn Hitchcock. 

Georgia Highlands College Chargers racked up 16 hits in the game. Allison Daffron, Hailey Cronic, Lacey Rutledge, Madison Bennett, Kyndal Brown, Marcotte, and Hitchcock all managed multiple hits. Hitchcock, Marcotte, Brown, Bennett, Rutledge, Cronic, and Daffron each collected two hits to lead the Chargers to victory. 

Game two was a tough game for the Chargers. After battling the cold, the rain, and the mud the Chargers end up falling to Southern Union Lady Bison 12-4.

Scoring was led off by Lacey Rutledge who hit a homerun in the second inning. The Chargers tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Offense in the inning was led by Natalia Herrera, Izzy Marcotte, and Lacey Rutledge, all driving in runs in the inning.

Maggie Schandera took the loss for Georgia Highlands College Chargers Varsity. She threw for four innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out one. Gracee Ellis also threw in the fifth inning allowing two hits, one walk, and five runs.

The Chargers are back in action Saturday and Sunday in Louisburg, North Carolina for a four game series against Louisburg College.
