McPhee Named PoTY, Records Fall as Chargers Season Comes to an End

The Georgia Highlands Baseball season came to an end on Wednesday when a late rally erased their 5-3 lead and eliminated the Chargers from the NJCAA Region 17 tournament.  Despite going home earlier than they hoped, GHC skipper Dash O'Neill had nothing but praise for the 2019 edition of the Chargers.  "These guys battled through a ton of adversity to pick up the 3 seed in a very competitive league this season, and I'm proud of them.  Not many teams can survive losing key pieces and still put together a solid campaign, and we did that this year.  This was a resilient group that cared about one another and will go down as one of the best teams we've had thus far."

The 2019 team set a bevy of program records this season as well as pulling in some impressive accolades along the way.  Highlights include Skylar McPhee earning the first Player of the Year honor in program history, Travis Sands being named Male Scholar Athlete, and 8 Chargers earning post season awards.  Here is a list of all of the accomplishments and awards earned during the 2019 season:
