The Chargers survived the Titans of Central Georgia Tech's run late in the second half to win in overtime 90-85. GHC opened the game on a 10-0 run and Central Georgia 10-2 run of there own to cut GHC's lead to 12-10. Central Georgia took it's first lead at the 9:32 mark 21-18 and extending their lead to 31-26 with 4:49 to go in the first half. GHC closed the gap to trail 36-35 at the half.
The second half was a back and fourth affair with either team able to pull away. The Chargers took a four point lead with under a minute to go but the Titans fought back with a chance to win the game at the free throw line. The Titans made just one of two and tied the game at 78 to force overtime. The chargers controlled the overtime period leading by 4 points through out to pull away for the win.
" I am very proud of our defense on Lasiter, their best player tonight. It is a great to see five guys in double digits," said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney
The Chargers were led by DeMarcus Addie with 19 points, TaJuan Johnson had 17, Khalyl Watters with 12. D'Andre Benard had a double-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Andrew College, tip off 7:30pm.
