Khalyl Waters led the Chargers with 24 points and 12 blocked shots , (School record) to pace the Chargers to a 88-76 win over the Hawks of South Georgia State. The Chargers opened the game on a furious pace, trailing only once in the game at 18:38 mark of the first half and took a 40-22 lead into halftime. The Chargers held the Hawks to 9/40 for 22.5% from the field in the first half. The Chargers lead by as many as 23 points in the second half, but the Hawks cut the lead to 9 with with 2:00 minutes to go but that was as close as they would come. "Khalyl Waters was tremendous tonight, setting the school record for block shots in a game with 12, and Chris Wright did a great job, he makes our offense go," said Charger head coach Phil Gaffney. Other Chargers contributing were Latief Harris with 21 points, Carl Johnson with 18 points, 7 steals, Derrick Cook with 14 points, 8 assists, and Chris Wright with 11 points, and 12 assists.
The Chargers (14-3, 2-1 GCAA) will travel to Albany Tech on Wednesday, tip off 7:30pm.
