The Chargers get the close win over the Highlanders of Gordon State 100-97. The Chargers fought from behind throughout the first half trailing 45-41 at the break. The Chargers took their first lead since early in the first half, 59-58 at the 14:30 mark of the second half. Gordon State fought to tie the game at 71 with 10 minutes remaining but the Chargers went on a 13-2 run to extend the lead to 84-73. The Highlanders chipped away at the Chargers lead cutting the lead to 3, 100-97. Gordon State in-bounded the ball with 2.4 seconds remaining with a shot to tie the game and it fell short. "Great team effort tonight, Chris Wright was amazing tonight, and the press put us over the top forcing 30 turnovers," said Chargers head coach Phil Gaffney. Chris Wright lead all scorers with 30 points and 9 assists, Khalyl Waters had 28 points and 6 rebounds, Derrick Cook had 19 points, and Carl Johnson had 12 points. The Chargers 16 - 3, 4-1 in conference play, return to action on Wednesday at home versus East Georgia State.
