Greg Schiefen is entering his 5th Season as Associate Head Coach at Georgia Highlands and 7th overall season with the Chargers. With 9 years of collegiate coaching, Greg’s career total is 6 - 20+ winning seasons. He is committed to developing player’s athletic excellence, academic integrity, and social responsibility. Greg is alsopassionate about honoring and impacting the culture, visibility, and program success of the school.

Coach Schiefen's collaborative recruiting highlights include: 5 All Americans, 8 players Ranked Top 100 JUCORecruting.com, 16 All-Conference players, 17 players signed to Division 1 (GHC), 1 NABC All Star, recruiting the number 1 ranked power-forward in JUCO, and 3 players going on to play professional basketball.

Greg’s current responsibilities include basketball program development, managing practices, training sessions, academics, housing, NJCAA/NCAA eligibility regulations, development and implementation of the offensive game plan, scouting and recruiting prospective players, supervising assistant coaches and team managers, assisting individual student athletes with academic support, coordinating marketing/social media, and designing player and team conditioning and weightlifting programs. His dedication to creating an environment of success, in all these regards, is his top priority.

Before coming to Georgia Highland College, Schiefen was a Lead Assistant for Misericordia University - Dallas,Pennsylvania; Head Coach for Misericordia Junior Varsity Team; and Lead Assistant and Strength/Conditioning Coach at Alfred University - Alfred, New York.

Coach Schiefen career experience encompasses GCAA Regular Season Champions, 2017, 2021 and 2022, Team Ranked Top 25 NJCAA D1, 5 Consecutive years, Team Ranked #3 NJCAA D1, MAC Freedom Tournament Champions 2016, NCAA Tournament Appearance, 2016, and Empire 8 Championship Appearance, 2015.

Schiefen played four years at SUNY-Brockport where he was part of a SUNYAC Championship, NCAA Tournament appearance, and 3 Eastern College Athletic Conference appearances. He holds a Sports Management, Bachelor’s Degree, with a Minor in Athletic Coaching from The College at Brockport, Brockport - New York, and InternationalSciences Association Certification in Fitness Training, 2015.

In 2017 he was inducted into Notre Dame High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a 3-sport athlete (football, basketball and baseball).
