Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Community Softball Camp

The Charger Softball Team put on a free two-and-a-half hour softball clinic to any of the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation members in thh 8U & 10U softball divisions.  The entire GHC softbal team and coaching staff spanned across three fields at Alto Park teaching the fundamentals of hitting, slapping, infield, outfield, and pitching.  The Chargers started the camp in the fall of 2018 and plan to host the event again in the fall of 2019.

     

 

GHC Softball and Women's Basketball Marine Training

The GHC Softball and Women's Basketball teams spent a beautiful afternoon at the Rome Campus with the United States Marines.  The Marines put the teams through a Boot Camp workout to instill teamwork, leadership, and character development.  Thank you to our men and women of the United States Marine Corp and for all members serving our country.

   

 

Charger Softball Participates in March of Dimes

The Charger Softball team volunteers with the Bartow County March of Dimes campaign every year.  Chargers collect and count money, and help with other duties during the march/walk.

 

Charger Baseball and Softball Volunteer at Bartow Rec's Annual Halloween Festival

The softball and baseball teams at Georgia Highlands have been volunteering at Bartow County's Annual Halloween Festival since the team's inauguration in 2013.  The athletes and coaches dress up, work different games at the festival, hand out candy, and even get to DJ.  

  

 

Bartow County Christmas Parade 

The Charger Softball team has entered a float in the Bartow Christmas Parade since the team's inauguration in 2013.  The Chargers walk the Downtown Cartersville streets and handout candy, and information for the team's upcoming season.  In 2018, the Charger Softball team teamed up with the BBA Program to participate in the event.  

 

The Georgia Dome/Mercedes Benz Stadium and Levy Restuarants

The Charger Softball Team's main fundraiser is working at the Georgia Dome, or now Mercedes Benz Stadium for Levy Restaurants.  The Chargers sell food and a portion of the proceeds goes to the program to help with everyday operations and costs.  The players also gain valuable work experience such as cash handling, inventory, and customer service.
