Playing at home at the Corral for the first time this season the Lady Chargers opened the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back to take the 78-42 conference win over Southern Crescent Tech. The Lady Chargers dominated the boards out rebounding the Lady Tigers 44-27 and scoring 42 points in the paint versus 8 by Southern Crescent. GHC shot 49.2% from the field to Southern Crescent's 22%.
"Sharai Lay did a good job of backing up her player of the week honors from last week with a great night, and Jessica Eadsforth Yates had her best game yet, it was a great team win," said Lady Charger head coach Brandan Harrell.
The Lady Chargers had 5 players in double digits, with Jessica Eadsforth Yates scoring 16 points, and 9 assists, Destiny Marshall also had 16 points and 7 rebounds, Sharai Lay had a double double with 15 points and 19 rebounds, Ciiara Thompson had 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Nijeria Jordan had 11.
The Lady Chargers (3-1, 2-0 in conference play) return to action on Tuesday at home versus Gadsden State, tip off 5:30pm.
