Coach Consuelo “NaeNae” Saxton is currently in her third year as the Assistant Coach and recruiting coordinator for the Lady Chargers WBB program. She in charge of Post player development as well as Strength and Conditioning for the Lady Chargers. She helped coach and train players with Team Elite AAU travel basketball organization for several years and helped lead teams to a back-to-back NIKE EYBL Championship. She utilizes this platform of basketball to help develop female student-athletes to build leadership skills, create meaningful relationships, and learn to work hard in a team environment to get to the highest level of basketball successfully.
NaeNae is a native of Rome, Ga, where she received the Rome-Floyd Hall of Fame award in 2018. She played basketball for West Rome High School and is a product of the JUCO world. Coach Saxton attended and played basketball at Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma where she was part of the All-American Team. She then went on to play for the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and played on the Final Four team in 1993.
Coach Nae and her husband Victor have 3 children Charron (28), Victor Jr (23) and Victaria (21), and 1 grandson Chadon (10)
Coach Nae coaching philosophy is Don’t let NOBODY else outwork you! To be the BEST you have to outwork the REST and You can’t be a Division 1 player if you don’t put in Division 1 work.
