Chargers Secure Series Over Andrew With Weekend Sweep
This weekend was a productive one for the Georgia Highlands Chargers. Not only did they honor Coosa Valley Credit Union for their tremendous support, but they also swept three games at home against GCAA rival Andrew College to clinch the season series with the Tigers. Starting pitchers Max Eichenberger, Andrew Arnold, and Kaiden Krak each turned in excellent efforts on the mound, and the CHarger offense continued to provide run support. On Friday, the Chargers used seven home runs en route to a 22-7 victory. On Saturday, the Chargers used timely hitting and solid defense to win 8-5 and 10-5. GHC swept a doubleheader earlier in the month at Andrew and lost on the road Tuesday to set the season series at 5 games to 1 in GHC's favor. They will play Andrew one more time in late April to complete the set.
GHC is now 27-6 on the season and 8-3 in GCAA play. The Chargers will have a quick turnaround as they welcome Bryan College to Commander Robert Bentley Field on Monday for a non conference doubleheader. First pitch is at 2PM.
