Chargers Sweep Lincoln Trail in Four Game Set
This weekend's series against Lincoln Trail College had a little bit of everything in it. The four game set opened with what one might call a "typical" 7-3 game that Chargers won to start the weekend. Game two was a pitchers duel that Max Eichenberger and Hunter Ward held the fort for a 1-0 victory. In game three, the Chargers found themselves in a 9-3 hole late before rallying back to win 11-9, and the final game was a 10-0 run rule blow out.
Andrew Arnold, Max Eichenberger, William Homan, and Brodie Chestnutt collected wins in the series while Hunter Ward and Jackson Greer each tallied saves to lead the pitching staff which sent a total of twelve arms into service. The Charger offense was led by sophomore third baseman Grayson Godbee and freshman first baseman Andrew Bishop, who hit a combined .450 with 9 RBI on the weekend.
The sweep pushes the Chargers record to 10-1 on the season. They will be back in action in Allendale, South Carolina on Tuesday, February 18 for a midweek doubleheader.
