Friday the Lady Chargers traveled to Spartanburg Methodist Community College to take on the Pioneers in double-header action.
Game one resulted in a 8-6 win for the Lady Chargers as they out hit the Pioneers thirteen to four. The Pioneers opened up scoring in the bottom of the third inning scoring three runs, however the Lady Chargers answered with four in the top of the fourth. Pioneers scored three more runs in the fourth inning, but it was not enough as the Lady Chargers scored one to two runs in each inning from the fifth going into the seventh.
Hailey Cronic led the offensive front for the Lady Chargers going three for three at the plate batting in four RBIs. Alexis Davis also went four for five at the plate adding an RBI. Taryn Hitchcock and Haley Robinson also added RBIs in game one.
Madalynn Morton started on the mound for the Lady Chargers pitching three innings, giving up two hits, four earned runs, and three strikeouts. Maggie Schandera came in from the bullpen throwing the last four innings, allowing two hits, no earned runs, and four strikeouts earning the win in the circle.
Game two was highlighted by a stellar performance in the circle by Montana Ledbetter. Ledbetter pitched all six innings allowing only five hits, two earned runs, while striking out eleven of the Pioneers batters.
Deyonce Lewis, Lacey Rutledge, Hailey Cronic, Haley Robinson, and Maddy Hairston all had multiple hits in game two. Rutledge added three RBIs and Robinson added two RBIs including a solo homerun blasted past the left field fence. Allison Daffron and Alexis Davis each added an RBI as well.
