GSC Season Comes To A Close In Loss To GHC

CUTHBERT, Ga. – Gordon State's baseball season came to a conclusion here on Tuesday in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) postseason tournament as the No. 2 seed Highlanders dropped a 13-2 decision to No. 1 seed Georgia Highlands College.

GSC finishes the 2021 season with a 30-21 record after compiling 19-11 regular season record in the GCAA.

GHC took a 2-1 lead after three innings and added single runs in the fourth through seventh innings to build a 6-1 advantage.

GHC completed the victory with a seven-run bottom of the eighth.

GSC managed just eight hits, including a 2-for-3 day at the plate from DJ Banks (Marietta, Ga. / McEachern HS) that included a double.

Derek Wylie (Warner Robins, Ga. / Veterans HS) had a solo homer for the Highlanders while Blaze O'Saben (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier HS) went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles.
