The GHC Baseball team won a back and forth affair with West Georgia Tech on Wednesday to claim a 6-5 victory and a series win against the Knights. Dalton Rhadans took the mound on short rest and went 6 innings, allowing 9 hits and 3 runs while fanning 6 before turning the ball over to Jake Meyer, who nabbed the win in 2 solid innings of work. Logan Ward hauled in his 7th save of the season after striking out a pair to end the game.
Trace Twardoski hit a big, 2 out, 2 RBI double to get things going for the Chargers offensively, but the Knights answered back and retook the lead on a pair of homeruns in the 4th and 6th innings. The turning point in the game was a 3 run seventh for GHC capped off by a pair of 2 out RBI singles from Blake Brady and Willis Kemp. Bryson Horne added the final touch for the offense, driving in what would eventually be the deciding run in the bottom of the 8th.
The Chargers are back in action on Friday at Gordon State where they will finish up the seaosn series with the Highlanders. GHC is now 27-19 on the season and 13-10 in GCAA play.
