The GHC baseball team entered Tuesday's game against East Georgia State needing just one victory in their last 6 games to clinch a berth in the Region 17 tournament. The Chargers didn't waste any time and punched their ticket with a 10-6. Ethan Underwood gave the Chargers a boost on the mound, going 8 strong innings to earn his 4th win of the season, and Logan Ward and Dalton Rhadans partnered to get the last 3 outs, with Rhadans picking up the save.
The GHC offense supported Underwood's effort with 6 runs over the first 4 innings and 4 more runs during a 7th inning rally. Trace Twardoski hit his second homer of the year and Bryson Horne drove in 4 on the day while 7 Chargers tallied hits in the contest. The victory moves the Chargers to 28-20 on the year and 14-11 in GCAA. They will travel to East Georgia State this weekend to finish the season series with the Bobcats.
