Chargers Combine for Historic Performance

While splitting a 4 game series with East Georgia last week, the Charger baseball team saw yet another program first occur when 5 GHC pitchers combined to throw the program's first ever no hitter.  Stevie Szucs, Ryan Smithson, Trace Twardoski, Skylar McPhee, and Logan Ward each took part in the 5-0 victory, and they each managed to navigate their way through the Bobcat lineup without giving up a hit.  Though the Charger hurlers walked 9 hitters in the contest, the only thing resembling a base hit was when a flyball to right field was botched for an error due to a miscommunication by the GHC outfield.

Parker Orr hit a pair of homeruns, and Bryson Horne went deep to the opposite field to lead the scoring effort.  After the series, the Chargers move to 29-22 on the season and 15-13 in GCAA play.  The Chargers finish up the regular season with games against South Georgia and Andrew College this week before heading into the playoffs as the 3 seed in Region 17.
