Despite playing in a steady downpour for much of the evening, the GHC baseball team picked up a pair of wins against the visiting Bryan College Lions Tuesday night. The Chargers would outscore their opponents 18-4 in the twinbill while tossing a shutout in game one.
Jacob Ryan and Chase Townsend each earned their second wins of the year, and Trace Twardoski collected three more extra base hits to pace the offense. Ryan Smithson earned a rare three inning save in game two for his first of the 2020 campaign.
With the wins, the Chargers improve to 8-2 on the season heading into a three game set against Lincoln Trail on Thursday and Friday this week. First pitch on Thursday is set for 1PM.
