When Lincoln Trail rolled into town for a three game series, much of the talk was about the prospects they would send out to the mound. The Statesmen pitching staff has the attention of many professional and college scouts, and though their arms were impressive in the series, the Georgia Highlands staff matched them pitch for pitch.
Ethan Underwood and Johnny Dow added wins to their record in the series and Conner Perry did not allow an earned run in his start. Jet Kern was rock solid out of the bullpen as well, collecting 2 more saves to run his season total to 3.
Mickey Maguire led the offense racking up 5 hits, 2 walks, 2 stolen bases, and 3 runs scored while David Smith blasted his third homer of the season, and Joe Sutton drove in a run in each of the games.
The series victory pushes the Charger's record to 10-3 on the season heading into a week loaded with action. GHC will host Cleveland State on Tuesday at 3PM in a single game before playing a doubleheader against Lake Land College on Thursday, and the week will wrap up with a 3 game set against Three Rivers on Saturday and Sunday.
