Four Chargers Earn JBB All American Honors

The post season honors keep on rolling in for the 2024 Chargers.  The JBB, a site dedicated to promoting and supporting JUCO baseball nationwide named four GHC Baseball Players to their All-American squad.  This comes after the NJCAA/ABCA tabbed three Chargers to their All-American team, four were named GCAA Gold Glove winners, and a record eight GHC players made the GCAA All Region team.  The honorees for the JBB All American Team are listed below:

Luke Orfi, SS.  Orfi was named the first team All American SS after a season in which he hit .438, pounded out 16 home runs, and stole an eye popping 57 bases.  In addition, the freshman short stop played sparkling defense all season long.

Chandler Anderson, P.  Some people overlooked the incredible season Anderson had because of the superb performances of his teammates, but the JBB recognized the significance of a 10-0 record with 80 punch outs in 79.1 innings and a 3.63 ERA.

Michael Sharman, P.  Sharman's season number speak for themselves.  12-2 with 101 strikeouts against only 19 walks in 93.2 innings was easily one of the best lines of any pitcher in the nation and good enough to land Sharman on the JBB third team.

Ryan Wideman, CF.  As if Wideman didn't haul in enough accolades with first team NJCAA All America and Region 17 nods as well as a GCAA Gold Glove Award, he added a second team JBB All America tab to his collection.  Wideman hit .414 on the season with 24 doubles, 15 home runs, 74 RBIs, and 48 stolen bases.

Congratulations to these outstanding players!
