The Lady Chargers drop conference game to the Lady Titans of Albany Tech 72-63. The teams traded baskets throughout the first half of play with GHC's Anna Stewart hitting a three as the horn sounded to end the first half to push the Lady Chargers lead to 30-27 at the half.
GHC took control of the game early in the second half going up by as many as ten points, on Cassie McFather's three pointer extending the Lady Chargers lead to 10, 48-38 with 1:31 left in the third period. Albany Tech fought back and eventually tied the game up 59-59 with 3:31 left in regulation. Again both teams traded baskets down the stretch with GHC getting the lead back 63-62, but that would be their last lead of the night. Albany Tech shot 46.4% from the floor in the second half compared to the Lady Chargers 30.0%, but the big difference in the game was at the free throw line with Albany shooting 31 free throws, 25/31 80.6%, compared to GHC's 15, 10/15, 66.7%.
The Lady Chargers had no answer inside for the Lady Titans Cekeya Mack who had a double - double 24 points and 16 rebounds. The Lady Chargers were led by Sharai Lay with 18 and 11 rebounds and Anna Stewart with 14 points. GHC (6-4) on the year and (2-2) in conference play will return to action on Monday at home versus Gadsden State at 5:30pm.
