The Lady Chargers got off to a fast start and never looked back and came away with a 59-40 conference win over the Lady Titans of Central Georgia Tech.GHC opened the game with a 14 point run leading 22-6 after the first period. Central Georgia Tech went on a 16-9 run of their own in the 2nd period to cut GHC's lead to 31-22 at the half.
The Lady Chargers started the second half just like the first going on a 12-0 run to open the third period. GHC also turned up the defensive pressure holding the Lady Titans to just 3 points in the 3rd period leading 53-25 at the end of the 3rd. Central Georgia Tech held GHC to just 6 points in the final period but it wasn't enough and the Lady Chargers closed out the game for the win. The lADY chargers held the lady Titans to just 20% field goal percentage for the game. GHC shot 41.7% from the field and 80% from the free throw line.
"What a tremendous effort 3 periods of play, we we put into cruise control in the fourth. I would love to see us close it away better, but I could not be prouder of the way we played for 30 minutes. With our short bench, I thought our kids did a fantastic job of guarding the ball and executing on offense, very proud of them, " said Lady Charger Head Coach Brandan Harrell.
The Lady Chargers were led by Ozahria Fisher with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 steals, Katerina Khomenko had a great effort with a double-double 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks, and Anna Stewart with 14.
