The Lady Chargers shuck off a cold start offensively in the first period to come away with a 63-43 win over the Lady Cardinals of Gadsden State. The Lady Chargers struggled in the first period shooting only 23.8%, but found a way to pull up by 1, 25-24 at the half. To open the second half the Lady Chargers went on a 18-9 run to extend their lead to 43-33 at the 9:07 mark of the third period. GHC went 9 of 15 from the field in the fourth period shooting 60% to open the game up and sealing the win.
Ciara Thompson had a double double on the night with 17 points and 15 rebounds, Nijeria Jordan had 17 points as well. Sharai Lay had a great night on the boards pulling down 17 rebounds. The Lady Chargers (4-1 , 2-0 ) in conference play return to action on Friday at home versus Cleveland State, tip off 8:00pm.
