Lady Chargers pull away for win over Central Georgia Tech

The Lady Chargers fought off a determined Central Georgia Tech squad to come away with a 65-59 win over the Lady Titans. The Lady Chargers got out to a fast start in the first period shooting 8 of 16 from the field to take a 16-10 lead after the first period. The Lady Chargers extended their lead to 33-23 at the half. The Lady Chargers got out to their largest lead of the night, leading by as many as 15 points mid way in the second half but the Lady Titans fought back cutting GHC's lead to 4 with 2:00 minutes remaining. The Lady Chargers scored on Ciara Thompson shot in the lane to extend the lead to 6 points and that was as close as Central Georgia Tech would come.

The Lady Chargers had 5 players in double digits in scoring with Jahnarria Brown with 14 points and 15 rebounds, Ciara Thompson with 14 points, 10 rebounds, Jessica Eadsforth-Yates with 14 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds, Sharai Lay with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Nijeria Lay with 10 points and 6 rebounds. The Lady Chargers (17-9, 12-1 ) in GCAA play return to action on Saturday at home versus conference leader South Georgia Tech, tip off 2:00pm
