The Lady Chargers battled the Lady Jets of South Georgia Tech down to the wire but the conference leading Jets pulled away for the 58-52 win. Both teams struggled offensively in the first period with the Lady Chargers going 3-16 from the field and the Lady Jets going 3-11, with South Georgia Tech taking a 13-8 lead at the end of the 1st period. The teams traded baskets in the 2nd period both scoring 13 points each with the Lady Jets leading at the half 26-21. The Lady Chargers stormed back to their first lead since early in the first period 48-47 with 4:14 to go but the Lady Jets found a way to pull away for the win.
GHC was led by Ciara Thompson with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and Jessica Eadsforth-Yates with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. The Lady Chargers (17-12, 12-4 in GCAA) return to action on Saturday as they travel to East Georgia State. Tip-off 2:00pm.
