The Chargers hung on for a 87-82 home win over conference rival South Georgia Tech at the Corral. Both teams traded baskets throughout the first half with South Georgia holding a 1 point lead 37-36 at the half.
GHC's stifling defense paid dividends early in the second half with GHC storming out to a 63-43 lead with 12:27 left to go in the game. However the Jets of South Georgia Tech fought back cutting the Chargers lead to 8, 71-63 with 6:51 to go. South Georgia Tech took advantage of the Chargers turn overs down the stretch to cut the lead to 84-80 but that was as close as the Jets would come.
"We had a tremendous effort tonight over the first place team in our conference, we can see we are getting better and better everyday," said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney.
The Chargers were led by DeMarcus Addie with 21 points, TaJuan Johnson with 16, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals, Sandro Noel with a double/double 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Khalyi Watters with 14.
