The Chargers made the five hour trip to Waycross, Georgia to take on the Hawks of South Georgia State and came away with a 89-84 loss. The Hawks largest lead of the night came in the first half 34-25 , but the Chargers cut the lead to 6, 38-33 at the half. The Chargers and the Hawks both struggled offensively all night, but the Hawks shots started to fall in the second half, shooting 66.7% from the field in the second half compared to the Chargers 40%. The Hawks out-rebounded the Chargers 40-25.
The Chargers were led by Chris Wright with 26 points and Carl Johnson had 11 points. The Chargers (20-5, 8-3) will return to action at home on Saturday as they take on Albany Tech, tip off 4:00pm.
