The Chargers basketball team fell to Cape Fear College 82-73 in the second day of the Dana Davis Classic Basketball Tournament held at Georgia Highlands College.
The team traded baskets throughout the game in the back and fourth affair. GHC led most of the entire first half with Cape Fear taking their first lead at 1:08 mark of the first half, ;eading 40-39 at the half. The Chargers went on a run early in the second half going up 51-42. However the Chargers could not take care of the basketball giving up 26 turnovers for the game and Cape Fear came storming back taking the lead for good at 7:12 of the second half and did not look back building a their largest lead of the night 82-70. GHc cut into the Sea Devils lead but it wasn't enough and Cape Fear easl the game at the free throw line going 19/21 from the line.
" This was another tough loss to a quailty team, we have to learn we have to take better care of the basketball ", said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney. The Chargers were led by Sha Linton Brown who had 14 points. The Chargers return to action on Monday as they travel to Gadsden State. Tip off 6:30pm CST.
